jennyeatworld on 2009-06-28 02:52:53 great job! all the entries this week are nicely done :) jaswinger on 2009-06-28 03:11:17 jennyeatworld - thanks as always! You're always very encouraging :-) how'd you comment so quickly?? jetboy on 2009-06-28 03:16:59 awesome! jennyeatworld on 2009-06-28 03:20:49 i just clicked "all paintings" and there it was-- i don't usually browse the front page as much as i do "all paintings." :) and you're welcome, i just speak the truth though. A. Tree on 2009-06-28 03:33:14 I must be the one to give you your fifth star, as I was waiting to see a little latter day Pointillism. Coincidentally, one of my profs was the subject of one of Close's large scale acrylics back in the 70's. (their both good friends.) Amazing when you realize Close is quadriplegic. Good job! alan pina on 2009-06-28 04:10:14 O---M----G----!!! Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
what a nice job!!! uilleanngirl on 2009-06-28 04:45:57 Very nice, and very obviously Chuck Close! Great job. :) zhanghaibin on 2009-06-28 05:27:18 Ha ha, you should see a girl ☆ pondocus on 2009-06-28 06:07:56 This is awesome. Kinda like a mosaic. drawing on 2009-06-28 07:15:14 That, my friend, is bloody awesome! Great job!! Sarah Katt on 2009-06-28 07:20:10 Wow, looks like you spent a lot of time on this painting, good job. jaswinger on 2009-06-28 08:11:23 wow guys thanks for your comments! Critiques are also welcome btw.
A.Tree - cool story! Is there a picture of that painting online somewhere?
zhanghaibin - I AM a girl ;P not as cute as the other contestants though - ha ha! boombox on 2009-06-28 12:01:27 wow, amazing! yes i can see this is obviously Chuck Close! very well done! :D dandan on 2009-06-28 14:45:23 this is really well done! I just tried my own entry for the contest and failed miserably zhanghaibin on 2009-06-28 17:04:34 The girl, refueling, very creative self-portrait! jaswinger on 2009-06-29 03:13:38 @ dandan - meh, sometimes they don't work out. keep on with the challenges though... that's what they're there for :-) Boreal Boy on 2009-06-30 04:29:40 This is so rad. And nice process, too. A. Tree on 2009-06-30 07:49:11 Get ready to laugh. This was the prof. He was one of the people featured in the Chuck Close documentary. He's a good painter in his own right....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Chuck_Close_1.jpg. uilleanngirl on 2009-06-30 08:56:51 @ A. Tree: Hey,I saw that painting in person this past spring. Small world! :P Munin on 2009-06-30 22:43:32 Damn it. I forgot to reply to this and throw stars! This is wonderful and my person favourite entry so far. It'll take something supreme to knock you off my top spot. Good job! jaswinger on 2009-07-01 04:40:48 boreal boy - thanks! I think the playback is actually pretty fun to watch xD
A.Tree - I did laugh a little! I hope my appearance doesn't seem too crazy 40 years from now...
Munin - thanks for your star, next contest you really gotta enter :-) Zeitwolf on 2009-07-01 22:13:33 I am watching this again and again and I am more fascinated each time. Not only well done, but really close to Close's style, too! alan pina on 2009-07-01 22:17:55 i think, that you are gonna win!!! :) jaswinger on 2009-07-02 13:34:25 @zeitwolf - congrats on winning! :-)
@alan pina: thanks anyway! Zeitwolf on 2009-07-02 14:16:28 I was crossing my fingers for you! (also, because I, philistine that I am, didn't know Close before and I'm glad you turned my attention to him!) Munin on 2009-07-02 23:53:09 @Zeitwolf: I've already expressed how much I love your entry and how close it was regarding my personal choice. You did great. @Jaswinger: You know the score as far as I am concerned with this paint. This is superb and my personal favourite. It's executed so well and clearly marks the artist on which it is after. I think someone said on the forum about wanting to adopt this style but was unsure if the program (and culprit) could pull it off. Nice to see you throw down some different sparks rather than fine rendering. Go get 'em girl (boy?). Munin on 2009-07-02 23:56:56 Edit: If you are male then your features obviously lend very well to your feminine side with regards to a self portrait in a Close style! ;) jaswinger on 2009-07-03 06:03:44 @munin: I am a girl. Technically a woman. Just for the record. And thanks for the support :-) jaswinger on 2009-07-03 06:06:30 @zeitwolf: well you did the same for me, I recognized Mucha's style but didn't know his name before :-) To leave comments you need to login first. |
